Mary-Kay Harrity
Market Research
As Senior Vice President of the Futures Company, Mary-Kay guided clients to insights challenging their accepted ways of thinking about consumers and the concerns that shape their lives and marketplace behavior.
Over her nearly 20-year career in research, Mary-Kay worked closely with clients on a wide range of business problems – from selecting the best product name to identifying opportunities for new revenue streams. She has extensive experience conducting research for a range of organizations, including financial services, home improvement, restaurants, packages goods, pharmaceuticals and technology. While “on the client side,” Mary-Kay was Research Director for International Masters Publishers (IMP, Inc.), a direct marketer of continuity programs.
Although the majority of her career was spent in marketing research, her earliest working experience was with the CT Department of Children & Youth Services (now CT Department of Children & Families.) In her role as an Aftercare Worker, Mary-Kay developed community-reentry plans for adjudicated-delinquent teen girls leaving Long Lane School. The experience impressed on her the impact that community services can have on the lives of people in need.
Post-retirement, Mary-Kay has been an active volunteer since 2015 with the Alzheimer’s Association – Connecticut Chapter. Mary-Kay is also a Steering Committee member for the Dorothy Day Lecture Series at Emmanuel College.
